Religious Education News
Thank you to all parents and families who attended our Opening Mass last Friday. It was beautiful to see so many supporters of our school celebrating the beginning of the year with us! Congratulations again to all the Year Six students who were inducted into their leadership roles for 2023.
We will be gathering again as a whole school at Holy Rosary for Ash Wednesday Mass at 9 am on the 22nd of February. All are welcome to join us as we begin the liturgical season of Lent. Lent is the time when as Catholics, we prepare for the greatest miracle of Jesus’ resurrection through prayer, reflection and service to others.
Parents should have received an email from me if their child is eligible to receive a Sacrament this year. We have been given permission from the archdiocese of Perth for both our Year Fives and Sixes to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation, which is fantastic! If you intend for your child to celebrate a Sacrament this year through Holy Rosary Nedlands and Loreto, please remember to fill out the form from the Holy Rosary Parish website (First Sacraments forms) by the due date of 10th March and return it to the administration office.
Finally, each class will be continuing the practice of Adoration monthly on Friday mornings this year. Adoration is a beautiful time when students come to the Chapel to focus on the real presence of Jesus as seen in the Eucharist. The Blessed Host is on display in a monstrance on the altar for all students to see. They then have time to speak to Jesus on a personal level to discuss thoughts, and feelings, ask for help or to share with Jesus how thankful they are.
