Dear Parents and Friends of Loreto Nedlands

As the term draws to a close, we thank God for the bountiful rain we have received and pray that the farmers have reaped the benefits.

Thank you to Mr Rijs for organising our recent Interschool Cross Country and congratulations to all students who participated. The children demonstrated their commitment to this event by arriving at school twice weekly to train in the lead-up to our House and Interschool Event.

Thank you to the P&F for our fantastic Art Incursion in Week Five, the children enjoyed it immensely. Francesca unlocked the staff and students’ creativity when working with clay. We look forward to viewing the end results.

Don’t forget this Friday is our Music Soiree – thank you to Mrs Katie Sharman and our Instrumental Tutors for preparing this wonderful event. We look forward to watching our musicians showcase their talents.

I wish all Year Five and Six students the best of luck as they compete next week for Speaker of the Year. This is the first event of three – in-class competition, followed by our evening school competition, and finally, four representatives to compete at Scotch College in Term Three.

At the end of Semester One, your child will receive their Mid Semester Report. We will be providing a hard copy this year for your convenience. You will not need to log into your SEQTA account.

Next term, Miss Amee Coles will be taking on secondment at St Michael’s in Bassendean in their Pre Primary class. Miss Coles will return to Loreto Nedlands in Term Four. We wish Amee the best of luck.

Finally, to Mrs Katie Sharman and her husband James wishing you all the best as you await the birth of your second child. May this precious time bring joy, rest, and wonderful memories as you welcome your bundle of joy into the world and a baby sister/brother for Isabel.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind Regards,

Rika Andres, Principal, Loreto Nedlands
