Principal’s Message – May 14th, 2020

Dear Parents and Friends of Loreto Nedlands

Firstly I would like to formally congratulate our Head Boy and Head Girl for Term Two. Connor Bradley and Josie Ferraris have genuinely embraced their roles and adapted to the current expectations and restrictions that are in place.

I am thrilled with the numerous Good Mornings and overall greetings I receive from the students every morning and throughout the day. This is not only from our senior students; however, I have our little ones asking me how I am today as well, which is very heartwarming. This is a credit to the staff and families.

As we now have at least 98% of students returned to onsite learning we have purchased a disinfectant fogging machine. A huge thank you to Darrilyn Hunter for sourcing out this fabulous piece of equipment. Every room the children enter throughout the day is defogged with a safe but very effective disinfecting solution during the recess break and after school by our maintenance team. This defogger does not leave any residue and is carried out while the rooms are vacant.

Students participating in music lessons have been able to return to their routine and undertake studies in the various studios. All tutors are ensuring that they maintain social distancing and adhering to strict hygiene protocol.

As you are aware, the Canteen and Uniform shop have re-opened this week with some adjustments due to government regulations. Please ensure that you follow the guidelines as they are for your safety and the safety of students and staff of Loreto.

We are so excited to have our Pre Kindy students return next week. I am looking forward to meeting them next week.

We would like to invite you to our Pre Kindy and Kindy “Enrolment Days” for 2021 on Wednesday, 17 June and Thursday, 18 June. Bookings can be made by appointment only.

Please contact the Administration Office at and a time will be made for you. I look forward to meeting you then.

Enrolment forms can be found on our website at

As previously stated, I will continue to keep you informed in regards to COVID-19 and the implications for schools as they come to hand.

I’m looking forward to seeing all the fabulous Sports Jumpers for our Fun Friday tomorrow.

Rika Andres
