Dear Parents and Friends of Loreto Nedlands
Well, we certainly started the week off very chilly. It’s nice to see the sun come out. Please continue to keep our Loreto Schools in Victoria – Loreto Mandeville Hall, Melbourne and Loreto College, Ballarat in your prayers, and of course all our families who have relatives or friends near or far that are dealing with far tougher COVID restrictions than we are here in the West.
The Parent Handbook has been updated, and I ask you to take the time to read it via the school website. Key updates reflected are:
- Term Dates: End of 2020 date for Students TBA (we still have not received firm dates) It could be the 11th or 17th
- Medical Section – Administration of Medication, Action Plans, Allergy Aware Policy
- Student Drop off and Pick Up Zones – Procedures and Reminders in particular
- After school play
Monday Three Year Old Kindy has commenced, and the children, parents and teachers love it. We still have places available. Please contact the office should you wish to enrol your child. I also managed to pop in and say a quick hello to our Monday Morning playgroup. The children and mums were enjoying our loving Pre Kindy classroom. Please contact the office if you wish to attend playgroup with your child and your details will be forwarded on.
The fragrance around the school yesterday was awesome. Nothing like a Sausage Sizzle to get the taste buds going. A big thank you to the parents who were able to help out on the day. It’s fabulous that the P&F is now able to again fundraise for our school actively. Don’t forget the P&F Meeting next Wednesday at 7:00 pm with the opportunity to Zoom in if you can’t make it.

I’m looking forward to Fun Friday – it’s my era. My favourite popstars were Culture Club, Queen, Madonna, David Bowie, Blondie, Cyndi Lauper, Fleetwood Mac and of course ABBA.
A reminder that your child’s writing samples/books will be sent home next week. I am aware that scheduled parents meetings did not happen; however, parents will shortly have the opportunity to make a time to meet with their class teacher to discuss any concerns they may have at this time through our school’s booking system. (Dates are currently being finalised). Teachers have now had your children for at least ten weeks face to face, so I believe they should be able to provide you with purposeful feedback on your child’s progress.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
