Christ is our Food and Drink
O God, who in this wonderful Sacrament
have left us a memorial of your Passion,
grant us, we pray,
so to revere the sacred mysteries of your Body and Blood
that we may always experience in ourselves
the fruits of your redemption.
Dear Parents and Friends of Loreto Nedlands
Mary Ward’s virtue of FELICITY: Do good and do it well. MW – Maxim
Congratulations to our Year Six students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday. Thank you to all those who came to celebrate with our students, including peers, Altar Servers, representatives of Loreto Choir and family and friends. Special thanks to Very Reverend Vincent Glynn, (Episcopal Vicar for Education and Faith Formation) and Father Gavin for presiding and our Teachers Julia Waller and Natalie Cloud in preparing the students.
I am sure you have all heard the exciting news of the Early Years Classroom Relocation. Loreto Nedlands aims to create a larger learning space, boost diversity and increase student enrolments from as early as Pre Kindy. Accordingly, we have come up with a solution that welcomes Pre Kindy into our Early Years Centre. We believe that this relocation will continue to benefit and support our children and the school community. Parents from all year levels, I call on your help to volunteer some time through the attached link. The school needs some TLC and a hand in relocating key items. The signup genius link is:
Congratulations to all Year Five and Six students on their polished and interesting speeches. Mrs Mary Bizzaca, retired Principal and specialist in Public Speaking, adjudicated the event.
The theme for LifeLink Day 2021 is “How is God calling us to be a Christ-centred Church in Australia that is a joyful, hope-filled and servant community?”. On Wednesday, the Mary Ward Captains were privileged to attend the LifeLink launch held at Newman College. They joined students attending Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Perth to learn about the many Church social service agencies supported by LifeLink. Archbishop Costelloe spoke to the students about the 37,000 Western Australian families and individuals that benefit from our support and encouraged us to serve our community with joy, hope and as servants of God. Thank you to Mrs Rebecca Barfoot and Mrs Alecia Gooch, who attended with the students.
I wish the Year One students a wonderful day on Friday for their Excursion to Kalamunda Village and look forward to hearing all about it next week.
Parents a reminder that when you drive up on Webster Street in the morning or afternoon, you may not exit your car. It is a drop off/pick up drive through. Students are only permitted to exit via the gate closest to the Dreamcourt and wait for permission to walk towards the constant moving vehicles to hop in their car.
The Teachers have commenced writing your child’s reports. Student Reports will go live on, Wednesday 30 June. Please ensure that your email details and SEQTA Engage details are up to date so that you will be able to access your child’s report.
