Dear Parents and Friends of Loreto Nedlands
Firstly I extend a very Happy Father’s Day to all our dads. I hope that you are able to join us on Friday for breakfast hosted by the P&F and followed by our Father’s Day mass. Families, please ensure you adhere to the COVID-19 restrictions.
If you happen to drive down Stirling Highway and take Webster Street, you will notice a beautiful blue street sign with Loreto Nedlands Primary School on it. Thank you to the marketing committee for organizing. This will hopefully easily guide visitors and prospective families to our school.
On Friday the students will have their NAIDOC incursion presented by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company and the performance is Bilya Kaatijin. As many productions this year, dates have had to be adjusted to fit with COVID. Traditionally NAIDOC Week is held in July. However, this year it has been postponed to November. Due to high demand, our incursion will be Friday.
Families I ask you to please support The Mini Vinnies Project of bringing in a Ziplock bag filled in nonperishable items. They will be distributed to those less fortunate than ourselves.
A reminder that Parent/Teacher Interviews will be held on Monday, 14th September so the school will close at 12.40 pm. Parents are able to book an interview with their teachers via Online interviews. Please click on the link to book. https://www.schoolinterviews.com.au/code?code=rxmxx
On behalf of the School Board, our School Board Chair Cressey Wallwork is on extended leave due to personal circumstances. Mr Eric Chidlow has been our Acting Chair and will continue to do so while Cressey is on leave.
On a sadder note, Mrs Rebecca Longbottom has handed in her resignation effective end of Term Three. The good news is that Mr Gianni Corvaia has stepped into the role as a temporary contract until the end of the year. This will ensure that we have sufficient time to advertise for a permanent position commencing 2021. Thank you, Rebecca, for your many years of service at Loreto and the numerous performances, recitals that you have prepared, played and conducted over the years.
Finally thank you to the P&F, particularly our Pre Primary and Year Two parents who prepared this week’s sausage sizzle.
Have a wonderful weekend.
