On Monday, 13th March our Canberra adventure began. It was surely going to be a fun and enjoyable experience.
Our class boarded the plane. On the plane, we had tons of sugar. In no time we landed in Canberra and we were so excited. Our bus driver Larry (Lazza) picked us up from the airport and took us to the Canberra Park Resort to unpack our bags and have dinner. Shortly after that, we went to Mount Ainslee to look at the view of Canberra.
Next, we went to Geoscience to learn about earthquakes and different types of rocks. We were able to touch the rock that came all the way from the moon. After that, we went to Government house where we learnt about different medals. We ended up our day with two games of bowling.
The following morning, we went to the Deep Space Museum where we saw models of spacecrafts and the Mars space rovers. Next, we went to the Old Parliament House where we examined comics that told meanings behind stories.
On Thursday, we were lucky enough to have two games of laser tag as part of the teacher’s surprise which they wouldn’t tell us about. We were separated into 4 different teams and the games begun. We had an amazing time at laser tag and it was very competitive.
On the last day that we were in Canberra, we went to Parliament House and were lucky enough to have a tour guide to take us to see both houses of Parliament. Finally, we went to AIS where we played lots of different sport-related games. We definitely had fun there.
We had such an amazing time in Canberra. We built friendships and learnt lots of leadership skills. We’d like to thanks the teachers, Mrs Sharman, Mrs Uchanski and Mr Mengler for taking care for us in Canberra and making memorable moments with us.
By Grace and Ashwell.
